Using content from Wikidata in your apps
2026-03-16 , Auditorium

Wikidata is a CC 0 licensed, semantic knowledge base of linked data. This talk argues for its use in apps, highlighting its diverse data types and strengths. It concludes with a showcase of existing applications to demonstrate Wikidata’s practical potential.

Wikidata is an openly licensed (CC 0) knowledge base containing a wide array of subjects. Thanks to the semantic model,
subjects can be linked to each other and it can be queried in various ways. This talk is an argument of why you should use
content from Wikidata in your apps. The talk will show what kind of data is available, and what it is particularly good at. It'll end
with a mosaic / medley / showcase of a few apps already using Wikidata.
